It's taken from the name of a martial art (心意拳 Pron: xinyiquan lit. heart/mind intention fist/boxing) (See our beginner course in this martial art
here)
Regarding the fist as only one shape the hand can make, we expanded the concept to the hand.
The hand represents the body in HeartMindHand, which symbolizes
Body and Mind working together.
There are three areas of wellbeing HeartMindHand seeks to address -
Physical,
Mental, and
EmotionalIt represents the sequence from
feeling → intention → actionIf your actions have healthy feelings and intentions, then you can act with
compassion,
awareness, and
wisdom.
